5 Beauty Tips For Busy Moms

When I had my first child, Eliel, I felt guilty for still wanting to own my beauty ("Don't "good" moms stop caring about themselves?")...I would think, frustrated I couldn't relate. So, those first few months, I let myself go. I only wore oversized t-shirts with spit up, stopped exercising, and ate whatever was available. I felt my inner warrior had left the building. And as a result, I felt depressed, tired, bored with my life...dry.

People, or your own guilt, will try to make you feel crumby for owning your beauty and body regimen as a mother. DECIDE NOW: You will not be moved. Realize that when you abandon caring for your body, your presentation in this world, you will never feel good! Choose to honor your temple by treating her like she matters! I mean, why NOT show up in life like the beautiful woman you are? Why NOT be as beautiful as God created YOU to be? Why not aim to become your best self during your time here on Earth? This isn't about you looking like anyone else on this planet. It's about you utilizing discipline to honor yourself by having an exceptional self care routine. You deserve to have this in your life experience. You deserve to feel as beautiful as your soul is.

HOW TO: BEAUTY Tips for Busy Moms

1. Care for your skin! Your skin is your largest organ. Drink tons of water, eat well, love on it. Wash your face every morning and night. Moisturize. Practice gratitude and love. Wash your pillowcases and bedding. Exfoliate weekly.

2. Update wardrobe. Donate what no longer serves this journey. Even if only two outfits are left, choose only to wear what you feel GREAT in.

3. Practice your walk. Put on your favorite pair of heels. Strut in your home, strut at the farmer's market. Practice your power poses. Get comfortable owning your beauty.

4. Whiten your teeth. My secret? Floss every night. Then apply baking soda to teeth. THEN brush for two minutes. Weekly, add in peroxide into this by keeping it over teeth for 2 minutes (DON'T SWALLOW). Drink coffee with a straw to avoid staining (yes, I actually do this and yes, my husband makes fun of me for it!) Lol.

5. Care for nails. Check out some tutorials on the 'Tube. Learn how to care for your nails. Some days I do my DIY gel manicure, on busier days, I'll reach for press ons for convenience. Choose what works for you and is authentic to your style. People notice these details.

To close, I know it can be hard to make time for self care and a consistent beauty routine as a busy mom. Trust me, girl, I know. I am a homeschooling, homemaking, work-from-home mom of FOUR. I get it.

But we as mothers deserve to look and feel our best. I don't know about you, but even if I'm staying in for the day homeschooling, I feel better when I do the above.

So, how about you? Can you choose one thing above to do today? Let me know how it improves your mood.
