Have you ever thought after having kids that you have to hang up your dreams, passions, "selfish" fitness goals, dating your man, etc.?
Have you ever (either consciously or subconsciously) thought you had to give up having fun now that little humans call you 'mom'?
I have.
I constantly have to let go of mom guilt and remind myself that my taking time to have more fun in life is not a waste of time (my ambitious nature tries to convince me I should always be working).
But this simply doesn't have to be the case!
Ask yourself this: would you want your daughter to give up on having a fun life once she becomes a mother or would you want her to still prioritize her joy?
If you're like me, the latter rings true.
Here are a few tips to help you have more fun in life as a busy mom:
Take care of your body
I have more fun in my life when I'm prioritizing my wellness. Period. When I feel sluggish due to binging on unhealthy foods, life just isn't as fun. Aim to care for your body so you have energy to have fun daily!
Get goofy
My kids are hilarious. When I give myself permission to be a kid with them sometimes, we have a blast! When I let my hair down with them, they have more fun with me too. It's a win win.
Make time for your passions
Do you like to sing? Paint? Cook? Then what are you waiting for? Make time for the things you love because this is your one life!
MWH TIP: Incorporate kids into your passions if you need or want to! For example, my kids love making smoothies with me almost daily. And they often join in on my home workouts too.
Keep an anchor thought
I have my kids write their anchor thoughts every morning for our homeschool routine. Anchor thoughts are thoughts you can "anchor" yourself in to keep your mood optimistic and joyful for the day. Think of these like happy thoughts--they bring you a smile just at the very thought of them.
What do you do to have fun as a busy mom? Let me know in the comments below.

I love putting blasting music and dancing silly with mine! Great post
Love this! It’s crazy how I think I need permission to do me as a mum but this inspires me!!!
